Class Information
Competitive Program (Ages 6 - 17)
Students will compete in 1 - 4 dance competitions and perform in our annual year end production to showcase their passion and maximize their dance skill development. Lots of training and hard work is required to demonstrate the proper technique (excellent posture, arm & leg placement/extension) to become well rounded dancers. Students will also learn important skills such as dedication, creativity, and working together as a team.
Competitive Program Requirements:
After 1 year of training or at the teachers discretion students will start competing in dance competitions.
Pre-requisites: students are required to enroll in a ballet technique class if they are not already enrolled in one.
Novice (Ages 6 and Up): 1 hour of ballet and a minimum of 1 additional class options
Junior B (Ages 8 and Up): 1 hour of ballet and a minimum of 2 additional class options
Junior A (Ages 10 and Up): 1 - 2 hours of Ballet technique + 1 hour of Jazz Technique and a minimum of 2 additional classes
Intermediate B (Ages 12 and Up): 2 hours of Ballet technique + 1 hour of Jazz Technique and a minimum of 2 additional classes
Intermediate A (Ages 13 and Up): 3 hours of Ballet technique + 2 hours of Jazz Technique and a minimum of 3 additional classes
Advanced: 2 - 3 hours of ballet and a minimum of 7 - 8 additional class options
Class Options: Tap, Tap Technique, Jazz, Jazz Technique, Ballet, Ballet Technique, Pointe, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Acro
Choreography Class Length: 1 hour per week
Technique Classes Length: 1 - 1.5 hours per week
Competitions will be held in March, April, and May
